Bacon wrapped sausages

'Pigs in a blanket' are classic party snacks, you can use sausages of any type, size and flavour, homemade or frozen puff pastry and some salt and pepper: simple, classic, delicious. If you want to take pigs in a blanket a step further, you can make bacon-wrapped sausages, for a delicious, hearty meaty flavour.

Bacon-Wrapped Pigs in a Blanket

Ingredients

  • Any kind of sausage, pork or beef sausages, full sized or chipolata. As many of servings as you want.
  •  Free-range, rasher bacon, one slice per sausage
  •   Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optionally, you can add a layer of puff pastry on the outside

Method

1. With the oven pre-heated to 180C.

2. Lay each bacon rasher out flat and wrap each sausage in one piece of bacon. Then pop them on an alfoil lined baking tray. The fat from the bacon will cook the meat so there is no need to add oil. 
3. Ensure each sausage have enough space on the tray and put them in the oven. Bake for 35 minutes.
